Welcome! I’m so happy you stopped by!
I’m Danielle Watson- a preschool teacher, speech therapist, unpublished children’s book author, and, most importantly, a mom of four big kids. I love kids and have spent my life helping families with their little ones. I’ve learned so much along the way… and made a lot of mistakes. Parenting is the most amazing experience- and also the most challenging. As a mom, I have always questioned myself. The responsibility of raising little humans can be overwhelming!
My Why
I’ve loved being a preschool teacher and speech therapist but wanted a way to help families on a larger scale, so I started this little parenting blog. Professionally, I also found that I often had to focus on what was “wrong” and address what was challenging a child. As a parent, I’ve learned and am continuing to learn, to celebrate what’s unique, special and, yes, even challenging, about all children.
My Philosophy
Through the years, I’ve developed my philosophy, standing on the shoulders of past researchers and specialists. In my opinion, the process of play connect communicate is the cornerstone to helping small children develop. Children learn best through play, and while we are so “connected” in this world through social media, texts, phones, facetime, newstreams, etc etc, we are often somewhat disconnected from those who are closest to us. Play to connect, REALLY play and REALLY connect with our most important people- that’s where the magic happens.
Different Learners
Our little non-traditional learners can provide unique challenges. The littles who don’t follow the rules, don’t follow the expected steps in developing. Those kiddos are amazing. Playing with them will help you to discover how they learn, how to bond with them and how to help them navigate this great big overwhelming, wonderful, challenging world.
What you’ll find on the GLP Blog

As a professional, I can provide some advice. I hope you’ll find some helpful information, but also some recognition that you, the parent, are amazing! Your love for your children is by far the biggest gift you can give them. Your loving connection is the most important thing in their little lives. You are their biggest fan and this is the most important thing.
Along the way, I can share a little to help raise those amazing littles into amazing bigs!
